Michael Kramm, a legend in coffee circles, founded Capresso in 1994, introducing the American consumer to high-end, Euro-style coffee makers and espresso machines. The name Capresso, originally suggested by Doris, Kramm's wife of 25 years, combines the words "cappuccino" and "espresso" to produce something new and different in the world of coffee. Today, Capresso produces innovative coffeemakers, espresso makers, superautomatic coffee centers, coffee grinders, and other coffee related electrics. Some of Capresso inovative prodcuts include: CoffeeTEAM, a programmable coffeemaker/burr grinder combination, CoffeeTEC, the first automatic drip coffeemaker with a stainless-steel thermal carafe and on-tap milk frother, and frothXpress, the first standalone automatic hot-milk frother on the consumer market.
