Customer Response
Very Temperamental
I purchased the Mellitta MEX2B in October last year. While I enjoy my morning mocha, I find the machine very temperamental. At times it is necessary to fiddle with the lever for brew strength (just to get the machine to work!} and the cap on the water tank does not fit very well which sometimes messes up the whole process. I have had to turn off the machine and wait to readjust it and start over. Sometimes I have to add more water (probably because too much steam has escaped from the lid; which I don't think is suppose to happen). This is my first espresso machine, so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am less than satisfied.
Big problem
The coffee maker quit working after a few uses. The manufacturer representative has been very helpful and has offered to replace it.
Goodbye to Starbucks
What a great buy - first time I managed to make coffee better than you get from Starbucks coffee shops. At least the coffee is hot!!
Experimenting with the easy to use frother and strength of coffee bean. Very easy to use, clean and simple. Takes about 5 mins to make.
Over the last year saved a few $100...
Good Quality for the Price!
I bought this Melitta Espresso maker about 2 weeks ago. I am very satisfied with the quality in comparison for the price I paid. The instructions are easy to follow and the handles are wide and easy to grip. It is clearly marked on the carafe how much water to add for either 2 or 4 cups of espresson, and the container for the coffee grounds is also well labled. I am using Starbucks espresso roast whole beans, grind them up myself, and the espresso comes out tasting almost as good as if I bought it at starbucks. I use the steamer attachment to make hot milk slightly frothed for the mochas I like. I like the fact that is is so easy to use, basically with just the push of a button and within minutes the espresso is brewing. No work on your part. If you want a cheaper end model this is perfect!!!
