Capresso Coffee Grinder
I really like this grinder because it is sturdy and has various settings that allow you to select how course or fine you want to grind your coffee beans. I have had other grinders in the past and they did not stand up to the grinding process where this one does and then some. It is easy to maintain and clean. I think that anyone who purchases this for household use will be satisfied with it's operation.
Much better than blade grinders
The Capresso Infinity Conical Burr grinder is a huge step up from the inexpensive blade type coffee grinders. The blade grinders actually finely chop coffee beans, whereas a burr grinder truly does grind the beans rather than chop, giving a much better grind that is more conducive to coffee brewing. You can choose a variety of grinds, 16 settings from extra fine to extra coarse. We found setting 6 or 7, slightly on the fine side, to be the best for a traditional drip coffee maker. Choose a lower (finer) setting for espresso, or coarser for french press. This burr grinder works great, seems durable, and produces a superior cup of coffee. The only minor drawback is the ground coffee does tend to get stuck in the chamber and you need to give it a few taps to get the ground coffee out thoroughly.

First Home Burr Grinder I've Liked
Every coffee grinder we have had has either been extremely loud, extremely messy, or usually, both. This grinder is amazingly quiet. It produces a very consistent coffee grind, and it manages to do it without making a mess out of the counter around it. In fact, the unit itself rarely needs cleaning. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great burr grinder for their home.
failed during warranty period - no replacement
The grinder stopped working about 10 months after I purchased it. The support staff told me that I should send it back at their expense; they sent me a prepaid shipping label. In the meantime I put the grinder in a box, the label arrived, I placed it in the box and forgot about it. Five months later I found the box and shipped it to them. Since it was now outside the warranty I was told that there would be a $60 charge to have it fixed. I was not willing to spend that much more money to fix a product that didn't last even a year. So now I have no grinder.
I would expect the grinder to work for more than a year. It was only used to grind coffee for a single person, so I don't think that's what would be considered heavy use of the product. It just didn't last.
Efficient but very messy.
This grinder is somewhat quiet and very efficient but it takes about five minutes to clean everyday after I grind the beans. I am not convinced that the improvement in the flavor of the coffee is that much more superior to justify the time and money over a blade grinder. I did a taste test using my blade grinder to make one cup of coffee and this grinder to make the other coffee. I tasted little difference.
