Customer Response

hit and miss
when it makes coffee, it's great. when the top doesn't work (which is often) it's a bust. a lot of money for lousy reliability

Wow! Super product! Yummy Results!
I purchased this a week ago to "substitute" for my large espresso machine that did not travel with me to my dads place. What an awesome product! Read the directions and follow fill guidelines to make a majestic cup of capp. or latte!

I'm using it on a electric stove right now - takes about 8 minutes - and I can "walk away" (not too far though) as the sound of the frothing (happens right at the end) reminds me that my delight is ready. (For those with a sweeter tooth, add a little sugar in your beverage cup before pouring in.)

On that note, while it says makes 2 servings, for those of us using cappuccino or good sized coffee mugs, fills up 1 (only 1) just perfectly (not 2, which refers to smaller serving size).

That would be the only draw back I can think of actually. If you are making full coffee mug sized portions for more than one person, the unit gets extremely hot (bottom portion, not so much the top glass part) and it would take time to cool off before you can unscrew and refill before making another round. (Manufacturers instructions say not to put hot unit under cold water - extreme temps. may neg. affect unit)

I'm thrilled with this product, it exceeded my expectations. E-Z to use. E-Z to clean. Love love love it!

(I paid $99 at William Sonoma, think I saw it on the internet for $89 with free shipping somewhere, so, as always, do your research before buying! Oh, also, saw a "cow" version - same manufacturer - wonder if top is see through on that one? ... Really like being able to see what's going on... that way if you overfill you can catch your mistake and catch overflow before it gets all over the stove... not that I'm speaking from experience or anything... do definitely follow fill guidelines! LOL!)

Hope this was helpful!

Yummy for my Tummy!
Okay, I hate to brag... but... I just bought this coffee maker at a garage sale, brand new, in the box, with the gift receipt, for $3.00. I kid you not, and, I had no idea what the price of this little gem was!

Mmm, mm, good cappuccino!

However, I was punished by the gods for putting it in the dishwasher. Uhggg!

I have made bitter, undrinkable brews about 20 times and I am out of patience.
I have followed all the recommendations.
Then I followed all the exceptions and tweakings I saw online.
Results: bitter, undrinkable stuff.
Freshly ground beans -- varied the fineness, no help.
More or less water -- no help.
More or less milk -- no help.
Decaf beans, caffeinated beans -- no difference.
Twice it spewed all over my gas cook-top, and I was always careful to screw the top part down firmly and completely.
It took at least 4 minutes if I was careful to have the gas within the area of the bottom of the pot. I think it was very over-brewed.
A pain in the patuti to clean.
Foam very wimpy.

I will give coffee at home just one more try: AeroPress. My friend brought hers over today and she brewed us each a heavenly cup of aromatic, rich, strong, non-bitter coffee. I'll foam my milk separately if I want that. I just need a reliable, simple way to make one cup and this product doesn't do it.

Great alternative to an out of control latte budget
Love this, though it can be a bit temperamental at times! It def only makes one full mug of coffee though, so I would not be expecting to serve two people at once :)
You have to be really careful to put it together correctly every time you use it, and watch it like a hawk while on the stove: you need to turn off the heat a few seconds after you hear the click and it starts foaming or it will overflow onto your stove. Sometimes it will spew out of the bottom for no discernable reason but over all it is great! I havent felt the urge to go to starbucks for a latte since I received this. For those unable to purchase a 'real' espresso machine at this time due to cost or space issues, this is the way to go.
