Travel and more
Works great for travel and for lower electrical use/carbon footprint. And for waking early and having a cup without waking others to the sound of the grinder. Lightweight and easy to use.

Easy to use coffe grinder.
It takes a bit of effort, but the burr-ground coffee elevates the taste just that much more.

Traveling essential
I originally purchased one of these hand grinders to carry with me to India. On my first trip to India I couldn't find a western style cup of coffee except at a Barista or Coffee Day shop. I needed something to get me going after a couple of hours of early morning meditation. This little gem and a couple of pounds of fresh organic coffee did the trick. When filled with beans it grinds a good twelve cups worth of coffee. The grind is perfect for a French press. The adjusting screw can be tightened down to grind finer if you are using an expresso pot. I know most people couldn't be bothered cranking the grinder but it only takes a couple of minutes and it does a wonderful job.

I bought this at the same time as an aropress i love it.The ground coffee door was tricky to get open i filed a place out to form finger grooves works great now. The adjustment is on both screws so you can grind however you like .

Not for French press or large beans
I got this mainly for camping to use with a pour over filter brewer. I've found it grinds beans fine... and finer. Even adjusting the screw all the way out, it's still a very fine grind. If you use it with a French press, you'll be chewing your coffee. With a filter it's fine though.

If you use large beans, you'll be shaking it a bit now and again to get the beans to settle into the burrs. It tends to not feed as well with large beans. I roast smaller peaberry beans, and it's not a problem with these.
Three rounded table spoons took me about four minutes to grind at a leisurely pace waiting for the water to boil.
That's a bit slower than a larger manual grinder, like a Zass, but to be expected with smaller burrs. The grind itself is very good. While very fine, it's a very even grind.

Static? on a dry day, this plastic is like a magnet for ground coffee. wiping the outside with a damp cloth before opening helps a little, but prepare for coffee fuzz.

Capacity: The upper hopper has much more capacity than the base collector. Maybe you could fit about four table spoons worth of whole beans once ground in the base. The hopper should hold at least eight, but I didn't measure it. So, don't go crazy up top, or you'll have a mess on your hands when you open the bottom.

If you want a light manual grinder for backpacking/camping/travel, you'll be fine with this.
If you want a manual grinder for home, or for use with a FP, get something else. This just doesn't have the adjustment capability of other grinders.
