I can't GET mine to die!
I've had my Brewstation for a year now. I replaced a 12 cuper that I threw out before we moved (serious ant problem, but I digress...)

It's has worked great day in and day out. I only make 4 cups a day when I'm by myself and at least one pot a day when my mom comes to visit. I rinse it out everyday then set it back up for the next morning. It's been great. It only leaks when I take my cup away too fast or keep my cup there until the verrryyy lasssst drop of coffee. But even then, it's not that bad. Nothing a quick swipe of a paper towel can't handle.

But my friends all have the new kind of coffee machines (you know, the ones that make individual cups of coffee!) and I want one of those. But I can't justify buying one until this one dies. I think it will be a while before I get a new machine. It works great, hot coffee, love the auto-off feature (I ALWAYS forget to turn it off!), never a burnt taste. I love it! I just want it to die already.

I love this coffeemaker!
Have had this for several months now, and love the nice hot coffee that never gets that nasty 'cooked' taste that a carafe on a heating element imparts. Love waking to the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. Must have gotten a better unit than those with bad reviews. I have spent way more money on coffeemakers in the past for much worse results, including an episode in which black treacle poured forth from under my Black & Decker!

Has worked great for over a year
I was surprised by the negative reviews because our coffee maker has worked just great. The coffee tastes good, it is hot and the machine is easy to use. It is probably the bottom of the line--economy version of the model, but it really has worked great for us. We make coffee every day and have had not problems.

horrible make
I love the idea of this coffeemaker, but Hamilton Beach is just a junk company. I've had this model less than two months, and then this morning it won't turn on at all. Doing a Google search shows that anything that can go wrong with a coffeemaker HAS gone wrong with this one.

It does come with a 1 year warranty, but Hamilton Beach requires you to still pay shipping to AND FROM their repair shop. It's a heavy coffee maker! Buying a new one is cheaper than shipping, the company knows that and is counting on it.

Since they know their product isn't worth supporting, I'll never buy Hamilton Beach again.

I bought this coffee maker with some trepidation based on the other reviews I read, but decided to anyway. It had all of the features I was looking for, and the negative comments seemed like things I could either avoid (now that I was aware of them) or common sense user errors. I bought it at Walmart and paid $30. I brought it home, washed it out, and then made a full pot of coffee. It was excellent! Very easy to use, the coffee stayed hot and didn't get burnt at all. I had been looking to replace my traditional glass carafe because after a little while, the heating plate would burn the coffee. I had done a bunch of online research between the glass carafe, thermal carafe, and this kind. I let this one go for the full 2 hours before the machine shut itself off, and the coffee never tasted burnt. I usually only fill it up to the 6 cup mark in the morning and that makes me 2-large cups (huge mugs from Pier One) or 3-small cups (smaller mugs from Starbucks). I love the dispenser, the glass carafe always made a mess when I'd pour it. Having people over and dispensing the coffee isn't a problem for me, I never took the glass carafe away from the coffee maker or put it on the table anyway. I've been using this coffee maker 4-6 times a week for about a month now.....and I love it! It's super easy to clean as well. I have had no issues with it leaking or getting too hot/not getting hot enough.
