Best coffee maker
Consumer Reports wasn't kidding to rate this coffee maker as one of the best. Brews great coffee with no fuss. The capability to put my travel coffee mug under the dispenser is like no other.

HAVE A SPONGE NEARBY!!
I should have carefully read the reviews "prior to" placing the order. While the coffee does brew to near perfection (that's per my wife), the design of this product is relatively poor. The flow valve is placed TOO FAR BACK, so it's virtually impossible to pour a cup of coffee (with one had or two) without it running ALL OVER THE COUNTERTOP. The manufacturer's photograph showing the usage of a metal travel cup is, without a doubt, FALSE REPRESENTATION!! There is NO WAY to use that type of coffee cup. We end up pouring the coffee into a (very thin) measuring cup, AND THEN re-pouring into the final coffee mug that we drink out of. We've attempted numerous positions for the cups; different sizes etc., but to no avail. On the positive side: The coffee does remain quite hot and fresh for (up to) 4-hours. We recommend the permanent metal coffee filter instead of the paper ones (which tend to BEND OVER and allow grinds to get inside the brew mechanism). Cleaning IS NOT EASY as there are "4" parts that need to be disassembled in order to do so: filter comes out; filter holder comes out; top ASSEMBLY comes out; bottom pour resevoir comes out. For the money? I wish that KRUPS had not discontinued their thermal (model 229) coffee maker. This will, unfortunately, have to do for now. NOT A GOOD INVESTMENT!!

Not very reliable, cheap parts.
This machine seemed to be really nice and it made good coffee but it just died without any reason. I took it apart because I do electronic repair and the power input to this device is inferior to other systems that use better power control. The features were nice and the timer worked well but it is too fragile for me. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

Hamilton Beach 48465 coffeemaker
Having a "HOT" cup of coffee each and every time is wonderful! So much so that the cons are not a BIG hassle to me. Cons: Unless you tap the top before opening it after brewing, it drips on counter. And if you use a THICK lip coffee mug, the pour spout it not out far enough. If these changes were made this coffee maker would be a 5 plus star!!!

Great Coffee
This is an excellent coffee maker which makes very hot, tasty cup of coffee. The only criticism I have is that it can be a little messy when dispensing the brew as the design is not very user friendly. If I pay attention to what I'm doing, there's not a problem. Unfortunately, I can't convince others who also use this at home to do the same. Oh well....
